BYJU’s, the embattled edtech firm, has appointed Richard Lobo, a veteran from Infosys, as the head of its Human Resources (HR) department. This strategic hiring comes amid ongoing challenges faced by BYJU’s in managing its workforce, including layoffs, delayed appraisals, and changes to employee incentives.
Richard Lobo brings more than 23 years of experience from Infosys, where he held various leadership roles, including his most recent position as the executive vice president and head of human resources. His expertise and insights are expected to play a crucial role in transforming BYJU’s HR function and shaping a positive workplace culture.
Lobo’s responsibilities will involve guiding BYJU’s management in organizational change and transformation initiatives, with the goal of creating an exceptional workplace environment for its employees. Richard Lobo’s distinguished career includes serving as the head of the HR function at Infosys from 2015 to 2023. His appointment at BYJU’s comes after his successful tenure at Infosys, where he contributed significantly to HR management. Before joining Infosys in 2000, Lobo also gained valuable experience working with the Godrej Group.
